MEET THE FOUNDER...

Hello, my name is Stephen Rogers. My primary purpose in this life is to know myself in the deepest possible way, live from there fully, and teach the most effective tools for human transformation.

I’m not a theorist or a content repeater—I’m a Shen-led teacher–healer–scholar and outlier (or what systems of control would call an outlaw) with an ongoing, full-blown kundalini awakening that’s been unfolding since 1995.

My work carries a real shaktipat-style transmission: awakened consciousness moving through one nervous system to light up another. I’ve spent decades in the trenches with the hard cases—deep trauma, addiction, burnout, and so-called “incurable” conditions—working on body, energy, psyche, and Shen at the same time. I’m not here to hand you a more “spiritual” persona; I’m here to help you experience a direct, embodied awakening into a Shen-led, superhuman life.

My vision is a world where people embody spiritual enlightenment, live in optimal health, wellness, and longevity, and perform at superhuman levels. Everything I do—teaching, healing, writing, or speaking—is devoted to building that world. I welcome your participation and contribution.

Let’s reach for it!

A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER...

Hello. I'm Stephen Rogers. Since 1995, I've pursued one singular mission: to break through conventional human limitations and extract the frameworks that allow others to do the same. My path as teacher, healer, scholar, and outlier (or what systems of control would call an outlaw) has been driven by direct experimentation rather than learned information.

My vision for the world involves: humans embodying their full biological potential—accessing states of consciousness most consider mystical, achieving physical performance that defies medical boundaries, and experiencing health and longevity that rewrites aging protocols.

Everything I create—from teaching models to healing approaches—serves as grand strides for the systematic activation of dormant human capacity or Transformashen.

This journey calls to those ready to discard comfortable limitations and recover who and what they've always been. This is the revolution I propose.

Reach for it.

THE PACK LEADERS

Meet the visionaries behind Shen Life: Stephen and Erica—pioneers in the integration of spiritual awakening and practical transformation.

Stephen and Erica represent the convergence of rigorous academic training and profound personal awakening—a rare combination that forms the foundation of Shen Life's transformational approach.

Stephen's journey began in 1994 during an unexpected catalyst: while incarcerated for a drug offense, he experienced a spontaneous activation, which continues to this day, of what Eastern traditions call a full blown Kundalini awakening. This profound event initiated a deep study of human potential.

Shortly after his release from prison, Stephen apprenticed under a Japanese Shinto Priest in 1995. This is his first contact with the concepts of Shen, Qi and Jing. His mentor famously told Stephen, "I can teach you God's way, but you must go to school to learn the government's way." So, he went on a scholarly voyage.

His academic credentials include a Bachelor's in Health Studies and a Master's in Oriental Medicine, with doctoral work in Energy Psychology (Psycho-Bioenergetic Studies), Transpersonal Studies and Oriental Medicine. Beyond formal education, Stephen holds professional certifications as a Transformational Coach, Reiki Master, and an Ordained Minister, complemented by specialized training in structural integration bodywork, personal training, integrative movement, and public speaking. His interdisciplinary mastery extends across Noetic Sciences, Yoga, Occult traditions, Biblical Studies, Semiotics, Mythology, Peak Performance, Libertarian philosophy, natural law, and free market economics—creating an integrated framework for understanding human potential. Currently, Stephen focuses on teaching, coaching and writing the Shen Life Models, while finishing his doctorates in Oriental Medicine and Energy Psychology.

Erica's path intersected with Stephen's through what appeared as chance, but proved to be alignment. Following his mentorship, she systematically built her expertise through certifications and trainings in massage therapy, structural integration, personal training, integrative movement, holistic healing, and public speaking. Concurrently, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies with a Health Science focus at the University of Central Florida, later followed by a second Bachelor's in Holistic Health Sciences. Her background in design and digital marketing built upon her foundation in dance and performing arts, creating a unique synthesis of embodied wisdom and practical application. Along her journey, Erica became certified as a Transformational Coach and Holistic Health Practitioner, and was ordained as a Minister for the Shen Life Trust. Currently, while managing Shen Life's daily operations and communications, she pursues a dual Masters and Doctorate in Natural Health.

The earliest iterations of the Shen Life framework started with Stephen's private clients back in 1996. The model was tested and refined through intensive work with over 2,000 students at their Los Angeles center in the early 2000s, after which they transitioned to a remote client model with occasional in-person healing and live events in 2007, continuously evolving their approach with each client's transformation. Together with their family of wolf dogs, they walk the path to embody Shen Life. Join them in exploring human potential.

THE PACK MEMBERS

The Shen Life community is lovingly referred to as a Pack after the Shen Life wolf dogs.

Over the years, ‘The Pack’ has included elite athletes, scholars, executives, physicians, therapists, award-winning creatives (Grammy, Emmy and Oscar winners), entrepreneurs, scientists, fitness gurus, and many others.

THE PUPS

The Shen Life community is called The Pack, named for Bella, China, Atlas, Lupa, Vishen, Raven, and Sisu.

A lot of people stop because of the pups—so here’s our backstory.

It started at Dog Beach in Santa Barbara. We didn’t even have dogs. A guy showed up with two wolfdog mixes, and that was the first hook.

Later, in Montana—our first winter—we saw a café sign: Wolfdog puppies for sale. We went “just to look.” We were done. They became winter therapy (we don’t ski), and a form of birth control—Erica’s maternal drive found an outlet.

Wolfdogs don’t let you fake it. They pull you into presence and remind you there’s a wild intelligence inside you—instinct, order, perception—that gets boxed up in domestication or civilization.

THE SHEN LIFE PERSPECTIVE

The Lever

The Lever

September 08, 202610 min read

Most people are pulling the wrong lever.

They spend their energy trying to control the economy, the boss, the partner, the ex, the market, the politics, the outcome of every situation they walk into. They manage, manipulate, strategize, and muscle — convinced that if they can just arrange the external conditions correctly, life will finally cooperate.

It won't. Not that way.

Not because reality is random. Because they're pulling the wrong lever.

The one lever that actually shapes your experience — the one factor that determines what shows up, what stays, and what falls away — is not outside you.

It's inside you.

Your feeling state.

The Most Important Thing in Your Life

Your feeling state is not a side effect. It's not a reaction to circumstances. It's not the emotional weather that happens to you.

It's the signal your organism is broadcasting — and it's the primary factor that determines what shows up in your reality.

Not your goals. Not your strategy. Not your resume, your network, or your five-year plan.

Your feeling state.

When your state is coherent — grounded, clear, present — life organizes differently around you. Opportunities appear. Conversations land. Decisions sharpen. The right people show up and the wrong ones fade.

When your state is scattered — anxious, reactive, contracted — life organizes around that instead. Drama multiplies. Friction increases. The same patterns repeat. And no amount of hustle changes the equation because the signal hasn't changed.

You are a reality-generating organism. Your feeling state is the frequency selector. It tells the Field: this is the version of reality I'm available for.

That's not metaphor. That's how the system works.

Why This Is Good News

Most people hear "you create your reality" and feel burdened by it. Like it's another thing to manage. Another way to fail.

Flip it.

If your feeling state is the primary lever — and you have direct access to that lever — then you have more agency over your life than you've ever been told.

You don't need to fix the economy to feel abundant. You don't need the relationship to feel loved. You don't need the promotion to feel capable. You don't need the world to cooperate to feel at peace.

You need to learn how to govern what's happening inside your own being.

That's it. That's the skill. And it's trainable.

Not easy — trainable. There's a difference. Easy implies no effort. Trainable means the effort has a return.

Where People Get It Backwards

Most people spend their lives trying to arrange external conditions so they can finally feel the way they want to feel.

If I get the money, I'll feel secure. If I find the partner, I'll feel loved. If I land the role, I'll feel worthy. If the world calms down, I'll feel at peace.

That's the formula running underneath almost every human pursuit. And it's backwards.

Because even when they get the thing — the money, the partner, the role — the feeling state doesn't change. Or it changes briefly, then reverts. The baseline reasserts itself. The old signal resumes. And they're back to chasing the next external arrangement that might finally produce the inner state they've been after.

The feeling state was never going to be delivered by the circumstance. The circumstance was always going to be shaped by the feeling state.

Change the state first. Watch the circumstances catch up.

How Feeling States Actually Work

Your feeling state isn't just an emotion. It's a full-body event.

It includes your emotional tone — but also your nervous system activation, your muscle tension, your breathing pattern, your posture, your hormonal baseline, and the quality of your attention. All of these braid together into a single signal that the organism broadcasts continuously.

And the tissue that conducts it all? Fascia.

Fascia is the connective tissue web that wraps every muscle, organ, nerve, and bone in the body. Most people have never heard of it. But it's the layer where the intangible becomes tangible — where a thought or mood stops being "in your head" and becomes a physical reality in your posture, your tension, and your shape.

Fascia conducts bio-energy. It's not just structural scaffolding — it's a living, responsive medium that carries the electrical and energetic signals your system generates. And it stores memory. Not cognitive memory — somatic memory. The drama, the trauma, the unresolved events your mind may have moved past but your body never did. They live in the fascia. They shape your posture. They harden into the physical architecture of your feeling state.

This is why you can't think your way out of a chronic mood. The mood isn't just in the mind — it's woven into the tissue. And until the tissue releases, the signal doesn't change.

Think of it like a radio station. You're always transmitting. The question is: what frequency?

A contracted state — anxiety, resentment, fear, control — broadcasts on one band. Life on that band looks a certain way: tight, repetitive, effortful, stuck.

A coherent state — presence, clarity, openness, groundedness — broadcasts on a different band entirely. Life on that band looks different: fluid, responsive, aligned, available.

You don't control every detail of what shows up on either band. But you absolutely influence which band you're standing in.

And that influence is exercised through one thing: your feeling state.

How to Shift a Feeling State

This is where it gets practical.

You can't think your way into a new feeling state. The mind can describe the state, argue for it, visualize it — but it can't produce it. Feeling states live in the body. That's where they have to be changed.

  • Step One: Notice the current state. Before you can shift anything, you have to know what's running. Drop attention into the body right now. What's the tone? Not the story — the tone. Tight? Heavy? Buzzing? Flat? Contracted? Name it in one word.

  • Step Two: Locate it. Where does that tone live in the body? Chest? Gut? Jaw? Shoulders? Throat? Find the epicenter. Don't analyze it — just find it.

  • Step Three: Read the depth. Here's where you choose your tool. If the contraction is mild — surface tension, a tightness you can feel softening when you bring attention to it — go straight to breath (Step Four). But if you're deeply locked — jaw clenched, chest armored, the whole body rigid with a state that's been stored in the fascia for weeks, months, or years — breath alone won't reach it. You need to break the physical grip first.

Move. Sixty seconds. Shake, bounce, dance, flail — wild, unstructured, unpatterned movement. No choreography. No performance. Let the body move however it wants to move without the mind directing it. Fascia responds to vibration and unpatterned motion. It's how the tissue releases what deliberate breathing can't reach. You're not "exercising." You're shaking the lock loose so the door can open.

Once the body softens — even slightly — then move to breath.

  • Step Four: Breathe into it. Not around it. Into it. Slow, deliberate breath aimed at the exact location. This isn't a relaxation exercise — it's a conversation with the nervous system. You're telling the organism: I see this. I'm not running from it. I'm here.

  • Step Five: Choose the replacement. Not a thought — a felt tone. What do you want to feel instead? Grounded. Open. Steady. Alive. Don't describe it in your mind. Find a memory or a moment when you actually felt it — and let the body re-access that tone somatically. Feel it in the same location where the old tone was living.

  • Step Six: Hold it. This is the discipline. The old state will try to reassert — because it's been the default for years. Your job isn't to fight it. Your job is to keep returning to the chosen tone, gently and persistently, until the body starts to recognize it as the new baseline.

This isn't a one-time fix. It's a practice. Daily. Moment to moment. The same way you'd train any other skill — through repetition until the new pattern becomes more familiar than the old one.

Proof It Works

I got a call from a client who was spiraling into a meltdown.

A few tough calls had come in back-to-back — the kind of day that hits like a pile-up. And she was doing what she'd always done: collapsing into it. Melting down. Broadcasting helplessness to everyone in range.

This wasn't new. It was a pattern we'd already identified and traced back to her youth — a seed of behavior she'd learned early. Act more helpless than you actually are. Amplify the crisis. Draw people in to care for you. It worked as a child. It got needs met. But as an adult, it was a survival move that kept her small, reactive, and dependent on external rescue every time life pushed back.

When we first started working together, I asked her to stop trying to fix her life and start paying attention to what she was broadcasting. Not what she was thinking — what she was feeling as a baseline tone, all day, underneath everything. The meltdown pattern was that tone on full volume — an old signal running the show while she believed she was just "having a bad day."

On this call, I walked her through a few sobering points. Not comfort. Not rescue. Clarity. We named the pattern for what it was. We separated the real situation — which was manageable — from the survival performance on top of it — which was not.

She pivoted. Not gradually. In minutes. Once she saw the pattern running and chose to stop feeding it, she directed the rest of her day from the state she actually wanted to operate from — grounded, capable, clear.

And here's the part that proves the point: later that same day, rooted in that chosen state, she closed a deal that moved her to her month's goal.

Same person. Same tough day. Different state. Different result.

The Sovereignty of State

Here's what this really comes down to:

Most people are governed by their feeling states. The state runs them — dictating decisions, shaping perception, filtering reality — and they have no idea it's happening. They think they're responding to life. They're actually responding to the signal they're already broadcasting.

I often say it this way: most people are living life getting yanked around by an emotional nose ring.

Ranchers put a ring in a bull's nose to direct its movement. One tug and the animal goes wherever you lead it. People are living the same way — except there's no rancher. It's just reactionary emotion pulling them from one experience to the next. Anger yanks them left. Fear yanks them right. Desire yanks them forward. Shame yanks them down. And they call this sequence "my life" without ever realizing they're being led by the ring.

A sovereign human removes the ring.

A sovereign human reverses that equation. They don't eliminate feeling states — they govern them. They notice what's running. They choose what serves. They shift when the signal has drifted. And they hold the chosen state long enough for reality to reorganize around it.

That's not suppression. That's not performing positivity. That's self-governance at the deepest level — will applied to the one lever that actually moves the needle.

You can't control the world.

You can control the state you meet it in.

And that, it turns out, is the only control that ever mattered.

Reach for it.
