Hello, my name is Stephen Rogers. My primary purpose in this life is to know myself in the deepest possible way, live from there fully, and teach the most effective tools for human transformation.
I’m not a theorist or a content repeater—I’m a Shen-led teacher–healer–scholar and outlier (or what systems of control would call an outlaw) with an ongoing, full-blown kundalini awakening that’s been unfolding since 1995.
My work carries a real shaktipat-style transmission: awakened consciousness moving through one nervous system to light up another. I’ve spent decades in the trenches with the hard cases—deep trauma, addiction, burnout, and so-called “incurable” conditions—working on body, energy, psyche, and Shen at the same time. I’m not here to hand you a more “spiritual” persona; I’m here to help you experience a direct, embodied awakening into a Shen-led, superhuman life.
My vision is a world where people embody spiritual enlightenment, live in optimal health, wellness, and longevity, and perform at superhuman levels. Everything I do—teaching, healing, writing, or speaking—is devoted to building that world. I welcome your participation and contribution.
Let’s reach for it!

Hello. I'm Stephen Rogers. Since 1995, I've pursued one singular mission: to break through conventional human limitations and extract the frameworks that allow others to do the same. My path as teacher, healer, scholar, and outlier (or what systems of control would call an outlaw) has been driven by direct experimentation rather than learned information.
My vision for the world involves: humans embodying their full biological potential—accessing states of consciousness most consider mystical, achieving physical performance that defies medical boundaries, and experiencing health and longevity that rewrites aging protocols.
Everything I create—from teaching models to healing approaches—serves as grand strides for the systematic activation of dormant human capacity or Transformashen.
This journey calls to those ready to discard comfortable limitations and recover who and what they've always been. This is the revolution I propose.
Reach for it.
Stephen and Erica represent the convergence of rigorous academic training and profound personal awakening—a rare combination that forms the foundation of Shen Life's transformational approach.
Stephen's journey began in 1994 during an unexpected catalyst: while incarcerated for a drug offense, he experienced a spontaneous activation, which continues to this day, of what Eastern traditions call a full blown Kundalini awakening. This profound event initiated a deep study of human potential.

Shortly after his release from prison, Stephen apprenticed under a Japanese Shinto Priest in 1995. This is his first contact with the concepts of Shen, Qi and Jing. His mentor famously told Stephen, "I can teach you God's way, but you must go to school to learn the government's way." So, he went on a scholarly voyage.
His academic credentials include a Bachelor's in Health Studies and a Master's in Oriental Medicine, with doctoral work in Energy Psychology (Psycho-Bioenergetic Studies), Transpersonal Studies and Oriental Medicine. Beyond formal education, Stephen holds professional certifications as a Transformational Coach, Reiki Master, and an Ordained Minister, complemented by specialized training in structural integration bodywork, personal training, integrative movement, and public speaking. His interdisciplinary mastery extends across Noetic Sciences, Yoga, Occult traditions, Biblical Studies, Semiotics, Mythology, Peak Performance, Libertarian philosophy, natural law, and free market economics—creating an integrated framework for understanding human potential. Currently, Stephen focuses on teaching, coaching and writing the Shen Life Models, while finishing his doctorates in Oriental Medicine and Energy Psychology.
Erica's path intersected with Stephen's through what appeared as chance, but proved to be alignment. Following his mentorship, she systematically built her expertise through certifications and trainings in massage therapy, structural integration, personal training, integrative movement, holistic healing, and public speaking. Concurrently, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies with a Health Science focus at the University of Central Florida, later followed by a second Bachelor's in Holistic Health Sciences. Her background in design and digital marketing built upon her foundation in dance and performing arts, creating a unique synthesis of embodied wisdom and practical application. Along her journey, Erica became certified as a Transformational Coach and Holistic Health Practitioner, and was ordained as a Minister for the Shen Life Trust. Currently, while managing Shen Life's daily operations and communications, she pursues a dual Masters and Doctorate in Natural Health.
The earliest iterations of the Shen Life framework started with Stephen's private clients back in 1996. The model was tested and refined through intensive work with over 2,000 students at their Los Angeles center in the early 2000s, after which they transitioned to a remote client model with occasional in-person healing and live events in 2007, continuously evolving their approach with each client's transformation. Together with their family of wolf dogs, they walk the path to embody Shen Life. Join them in exploring human potential.

Are you ready to join the Shen Life Pack?
The Shen Life community is called The Pack, named for Bella, China, Atlas, Lupa, Vishen, Raven, and Sisu.
It started at Dog Beach in Santa Barbara. We didn’t even have dogs. A guy showed up with two wolfdog mixes, and that was the first hook.
Later, in Montana—our first winter—we saw a café sign: Wolfdog puppies for sale. We went “just to look.” We were done. They became winter therapy (we don’t ski), and a form of birth control—Erica’s maternal drive found an outlet.
Wolfdogs don’t let you fake it. They pull you into presence and remind you there’s a wild intelligence inside you—instinct, order, perception—that gets boxed up in domestication or civilization.
To encourage you to continue along the Shen Life path, here are some writings to rattle your noggin and inspire you onward.

In Malcolm Gladwell's Talking to Strangers, he names a phenomenon most people have never questioned: we default to truth.
We assume people are telling the truth. We assume people are acting in good faith. We assume the person across from us is operating from the same honest, well-intentioned mode we believe we're operating from.
That default is how con artists succeed. It's how abusers stay hidden. It's how scandals run for decades under everyone's nose. And it's how ordinary people get hurt — emotionally, financially, relationally — over and over again, without ever understanding why.
The reason is simple: people default to truth and goodness because that's how they see themselves. They believe they tell the truth, so they assume others do too. They believe they act in good faith, so they extend that assumption to everyone they meet.
It's not generosity. It's projection.
And that self-view? It's always biased. Always skewed. The persona edits the self-image in real time — softening the ugly, inflating the noble, deleting the inconvenient — and delivers it back as "who I am." Then that polished fiction becomes the lens through which you evaluate everyone else.
You're not seeing them clearly. You're seeing them through a filter you haven't questioned — because questioning it would mean questioning yourself.
I don't operate that way.
That doesn't mean I walk around assuming everyone is bad. It doesn't mean I'm doom and gloom, suspicious of every handshake, cynical about human nature. It means I see people clearly — for what they are, not for what I hope they'll be.
And what they are is survival-pathic.
All of them. Not some. All.
Think of an FBI profiler.
They can look at a person and see patterns. They understand psychology. They understand biology. They understand that human beings are wired — at the deepest level of the nervous system — to think about themselves first.
That's not a judgment. It's a reading. A clean, accurate reading of how the organism operates when Shen isn't driving.
Most people don't have this lens. They project their default-to-truth assumption onto others and then feel betrayed when the projection doesn't hold.
But the problem was never the other person. The problem was the default — the setting that says this person is honest and good without first checking whether they're operating from their depth or from their survival machinery.
Here's something worth noting: in the wild, this default-to-truth bias doesn't exist.
Animals are sober. A deer doesn't assume the wolf is friendly. A wolf doesn't assume the bear is trustworthy. They read the field, assess the signal, and respond accordingly — without projection, without wishful thinking, without a story about how the other animal is "probably a good creature deep down."
That's not paranoia. That's clarity. And it keeps them alive.
Humans lost that clarity somewhere along the way. "Civilized" standards taught us to override the animal instinct — to be polite, to assume good faith, to give the benefit of the doubt — until the organism that once read the room with precision now walks in blind and calls it manners.
I live with wolf dogs. I've had seven over the years...four right now.
I love them. I play with them. I gnaw on them. I think of them as my own children.
But I know what I have.
When a rabbit walks by — when another dog crosses the path — it's a different event than it would be for a domestic dog. The wiring is different. The drives are different. The threshold between play and prey is different.
That doesn't mean I hate them. It doesn't mean I treat them badly. It means I never forget what I'm working with. I respect what they are — fully — without pretending they're something they're not.
That's exactly how I navigate humans.
Not with suspicion. With sobriety.
I proceed with caution. Cautiously optimistic. I meet someone and think, great person, I like them. But underneath that, I'm always aware of how their nervous system is wired. How their psychology is structured. How far they are from Shen — from center, from Source.
And I proceed accordingly.
This is where most people get hurt.
Not physically — emotionally. And not because the world is especially cruel, but because they walked into it wearing rose-colored glasses and called that spiritual maturity.
They hear words like Namaste — "the divine in me recognizes the divine in you" — and they take it as a blanket operating instruction. See the Spirit in everyone. Assume the best. Lead with trust.
And look — that's true at the deepest level. I can see Spirit in people. I can be completely engrossed in that recognition and feel the truth of it at the core.
But I can also see — at the same time, in the same person — that they are disconnected from that Spirit. Removed from it. Operating not from their deeper nature but from the persona — the survival-pathic machinery that has nothing to do with who they actually are and everything to do with their conditioning.
Both things are true simultaneously.
The Spirit is real. And the persona running on top of it is just as real. And if you only see the Spirit without recognizing the persona, you're going to get blindsided — over and over again — and call it betrayal when it was actually just a failure to read the room.
This is the skill most spiritual people never develop.
They can see the light. They can feel the unity. They can sense the divine spark in another human being. Beautiful.
But they can't — or won't — simultaneously see the survival machinery running on top of it.
The charm that's actually manipulation. The generosity that's actually a transaction. The vulnerability that's actually a control move. The spiritual language that's actually a costume covering the same old patterns.
Seeing both at once isn't cynicism. It's completion.
The mystic who can only see the divine is half-awake. The cynic who can only see the survival is half-awake. The sovereign sees both — holds both — and navigates from a place that doesn't require the other person to be anything other than exactly what they are.
That's not distrust. That's the deepest form of respect — because you're not projecting a fantasy onto them. You're meeting the whole human.
When you stop defaulting to truth and goodness and start seeing what's really going on, something changes in how you relate.
You stop getting blindsided. Not because you predicted every betrayal — but because you stopped being surprised by deceitful, manipulative behavior in a survival-pathic species.
You stop taking it personally. Their pattern isn't about you. It's about their wiring. Once you see that clearly, the emotional charge drops. You can respond instead of react.
You navigate with more skill and less damage. You know where the edges are. You know what the wolf dog does when the rabbit runs by. You don't hate the wolf dog for it. You just don't put your hand where it doesn't belong.
And — paradoxically — your relationships get more honest. Because you're no longer performing trust you don't actually feel. You're offering clean, eyes-open engagement that doesn't require anyone to be something they haven't earned yet.
That's what keeps me sober in relationships. Not suspicious. Sober.
If people grew a little more — through meditation, through contemplation, through the honest discipline of looking inward — they would see the survival machinery in themselves first.
And once you see it in yourself, you see it everywhere.
Not as a reason to withdraw. As a reason to walk through the world with your eyes open instead of your projections leading the way.
See the Spirit. Honor it. Mean it.
And pay attention to the whole picture. There are always shadows accentuating the light.
Reach for it.
