The Paws Started It All
As is often the case with serendipitous meetings, our tale began with our furry companions—the true stars of our escapades. A mutual acquaintance, inspired by a unique project, connected us with a photographer in need of our pups' charm. While "pimping out" our pups is a rarity, we jumped into the unknown with an inexplicable sense of excitement.
Karen and Steve Jackson: The Creative Duo
Enter Karen and Steve Jackson—innovators, dreamers, and the creative forces behind Two Keys Photography. A quick chat led us to a photo shoot with Bella, China, and Atlas, setting the stage for what can only be described as a divinely-fueled project. Karen, a firefighter, joined forces with Steve, a pilot, in life and fun to breathe new life into surreal visual narratives.
Stories of Transformation Unveiled
Nestled in Bastrop, TX, this dynamic duo weaves tales of resilience, focusing on the transformative journeys individuals undertake in the face of life's adversities. McKinney Falls State Park became the canvas where our pups helped tell the story of a man who overcame substance abuse. The project showcased several men from the Comfort Cafe, an eatery that channels its proceeds into a peer-to-peer recovery program through Serenity Star in Smithville, TX.
No strangers to the recovery process ourselves, we found satisfaction in celebrating a warrior facing his inner demons hiding in the dark. Karen and Steve's art elicits a sense of catharsis and offers an inspiring glimpse into the hero's journey.

Understanding the power of their process and vision, we sought their expertise in narrating stories related to Shen Life and the pursuit of enlightenment. The collaborative result?

Much like their art, Karen and Steve's upcoming project defies convention. A unique book, seamlessly blending imagery with education, is set to share the stories of individuals battling disabilities. Delving into the depths of amputations, the project reveals the indomitable grit these individuals muster to live another day. Covering natural absences, loss from illnesses, plus revealing the aftermath individuals face when unexpectedly surviving a tragedy by way of amputation. Thorough education as to the medical and psychological perspective, innovative prosthetics solutions, and the rehabilitation process balances the pages of portrayals. While the release date is yet to be revealed, a sneak peek into these compelling stories awaits on their website's project list.
